Travel to Cairo
Early morning you will be picked up at 02.00 am by A/C VAN from your hotel In Hurghada and drive through the night to Cairo.
Arrival in Cairo
On your arrival early morning at Cairo, you will be met by our Cairo Excursions Tour Guide who will accompany you for the duration of your tour.
Visit the Egyptian Museum
You will start the tour by visiting the world- famous Egyptian Museum that was built in neo-classical style designed by the French architect Marcel.The museum, spanning two floors, houses a vast 120,000 masterpieces from different eras and periods in Egyptian history. The most popular exhibits are that of treasures relating to the Pharaonic Kings and Queens, such as the child King Tutankhamen and the room of mummies. In the latter, visitors can learn more about mummification art in ancient Egypt. The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities is a fascinating place that allows you to see all the antiques that would have been buried in the ancient kings of Egypt's tombs and pyramids as well as some of the mummified kings themselves.
Discover the Nile by Felucca "Optional"
After your visit to the Egyptian museum, you will have the chance to relax and float on a Felucca (small motor boat) on a trip along the longest river in the world. Here you can take a time to absorb the panoramic views of the city in the summer breeze.
Lunch
After a fantastic morning exploring some of Luxor's impressive temples, we'll relax along the Nile at a local restaurant for a delicious Lunch with a wonderful Nile view.
Visit Pyramids & Sphinx
After lunch, we will cross the Nile and travel to Giza to the ancient pyramids, constructed in around 2560BC. The Great Pyramid Also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops, the Great Pyramid is the oldest and largest of the Pyramids of Giza. Composed of over 2.3 million blocks of granite weighing 25-80 tonnes each, Renowned as the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one that still remains largely intact, the Great Pyramid never fails to astound and amaze. Built over a 20 year period, the Great Pyramid initially stood at 146 meters, making it the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years.
It will be hard not to stare in amazement on your arrival at the pyramids and ask: ‘How were they built? And why?’ Were Built by Aliens? Don’t worry – all of our guides are qualified Egyptologists and will be happy to guide you and answer all of your questions. There will be the option at this point in the tour to go inside one of the three ancient pyramids.
After that, we will walk down to the edge of the plateau to King Kafra Valley where you can take your first glimpse of the Great Sphinx and its temple. The Great Sphinx of Giza is a mythological creature, formed of a human head and the body of a lion which standing at over 20 metres high 73 metres long is a magnificent sight to behold.
The Great Sphinx of Giza is an awesome sight and rich in history, over its lifetime being buried in sand for hundreds of years and then dug back out. There are also stories of Napoleon's soldiers shooting cannonballs at the great Sphinx and breaking off its nose.
Shopping
Our final stop of about one hour will be for shopping. Here you will have the chance to buy authentic and traditional Egyptian souvenirs and gifts produced by local craftspeople. We will spend time at the Papyrus Institute, where you will be given a demonstration on how this famous paper is made and where you will also have the chance to purchase papyrus art. We will also visit a perfume shop, where you can shop for Arabian scents and beautifully decorated perfume bottles.
Return to your Hurghada Hotel
After seeing Cairo's' most impressive sightseeing on our famous Cairo tour from Hurghada we'll travel back to your hotel in Hurghada by air-conditioned coach, getting back around 10.00pm in the evening after what we know will have been a most enjoyable day.
